Beyond the Course Work

It is essential to continue your child’s learning beyond the online course work. Exposing your student to real-word learning experiences to extend concepts they are learning in their coursework. The following are suggested outings you can take your child on:

  • The Zoo
  • Nature Center
  • Art Museum
  • Science Museum
  • Historical Museum
  • Go on Nature Walks
  • When Shopping with your student have them practice adding, budgeting, counting money
  • Library
  • Visit Community Places such as a Fire Station, Police Station, City Hall, etc.

In addition to taking your child on outings, be sure to read to them every night. Playing board games is an excellent way to reinforce the concepts taught in school. Many board games help children learn skills used in reading and math. As well as teaching critical thinking and deductive reasoning. Below is a list of suggested board games to have on hand:
